Blessing of our Advent Wreath (a bit of water for sprinkling is always nice)
We gather together in a tradition of the ages around this evergreen circle and candles whose color connects us to both passion and hope
Purple light that carries us through the passion of loving in both the darkness and the light; we are one as we live the mystery of birth and death inviting us to create silence in the midst of celebration.
Pink light that brings joy in the midst of the observance of so much in the world that threatens to divide us, connecting us in the flame of integrity and the hope of the world we create with just the next right choice
This gathering around this circle of green reminds us that we are one – an unbroken human family of your creation.
And so, we remember the generations who have gone before us, gathering around circles of light to pierce the dark in this time of preparation and presence
We unite with all those around the world who gather in other languages, climates, cultures and traditions and bless wreaths of green and candles of light.
May we be ever-green with hope and light for the darkness as we await the resurrection of our hope given to us in Emmanuel, “God With Us”
Bless Us, O Lord…and these Thy Advent gifts Which we are about to receive
