36: Lint-Check. First Sunday of Lent
Over time, the Lint filter collects the remnants of the past.
Miles traversed by socks.
Faded tones of well-traveled cotton.
Towels that have dried dishes, tears and daily duty.
Missed stains secured with heat.
Remnants that I celebrate and some I would do anything to forget — (well, anything except what will actually reconcile).
Lint Collectors in Lent
Release me, O Lord
From the narrow vision of my own certitude
Wash the window of my soul that something new is possible
Take care of the resentment I entrust to you and transform it
Energize my apathy and engage me
Release me, O Lord
This Lent,
Clear out my Lint Collector
